23rd International Community Fair

Expats and Italians enjoy meaningful exchanges

September 12th, Rome, Italy.  ,

the 23rd International Community Fair (ICF) will be held this year on Saturday, September 12th, from 11am - 5pm at the American overseas School of Rome , managed by Welcome neighbour .  The event is free to attend and open to the public.

ICF was started 24 years ago by Welcome Neighbor as a way for foreign residents in Rome to greet each other, meet new people, and discover new services offered by various businesses to incorporate into their lives. The international community has learned to rely strongly on these friendships and contacts as their "reference points" in their lives abroad.

Every year, the Fair has become more important to the international community and has consistently grown to include the Italian community as well. For the first time since 2004 , it is being held at the American Overseas School of Rome where it was first started , and where exhibitors display their products and services on stands situated in the beautiful courtyards of the School on Via Cassia at Tomba di Nerone.  .  Event sponsors include: Farmacia Olgiata, Driver in Italy,Italia Kids,   Video Martin, Sony,   PERONI,

There is an all-day schedule of live music, entertainment, a fashion show, practical mini-workshops and seminars, face painting, roving clowns, an international food court, manicures, and brownies, with the Awards Presentation, at 12 o' clock, of the Children's Art competition with world famous artist Giorgio Zambonelli  as well as exciting raffle prizes.  At 1pm don't miss the exciting high fashion newest collection by Brazilian designer Dilaine and her partner Brunia who will enhance the stage with  unique hand woven fabrics and special designs, accompanied by famous TV celebrities.

Be ready at 2pm for the incoming ambulances of the Italian National Red Cross, who have recently been on the front lines in aid of Earthquake victims in Abruzzo.  They will be simulating first aid emergencies and life saving situations.  Don't worry, it will all seem real but it will all be … set up for you to see exactly what kind of situations they are involved in.

At 3pm the Raffle tickets sale will close and Guests of Honour and Authorities will be presented by journalist Maria Giovanna Maglie.  The rock concert with British Band "The Doormats" will start at 3pm.  This year the proceeds of the raffle will go to benefit The Welcome Neighbor Charity Associazione Kim (www.associazionekim.it) which hosts sick children from poor countries in need of medical care right here in Rome.
